Spring 2017 Favorites!
Spring 2017 is here and with it lots of changes in weather. Instead of the dry cold, we've been getting lots of rain and humidity (womp womp). As the seasons change, so does my skin routine because I have to adapt to the weather and how it's affecting my skin.
I've been trying a couple of new products, and I thought I would put together a short little list for you guys with some reviews for you to check out. So far, these five products are the products that I am crazy about this season! Check out my list, and let me know if you guys have tried any of these products before too!
1. Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo- $8 at urbanoutfitters.com
I am always looking to up my dry shampoo game, so this is number one on my list! Since it's been so rainy, my hair has been looking exceptionally greasy. I really like this brand as far as shampoo goes, so I thought I would try out the dry shampoo this season.
My favorite part is that when you apply the product, it is lightweight and doesn't leave a white residue on your hair (like drybar or Batiste tends to do at times) so I don't look like my hair is prematurely aging. Also a plus, the product smells great. Not a lot of perfume, but just enough scent that it smells fresher and cleaner without making me also feel like a newborn baby. Overall one of my favorite dry shampoo products I've ever used. In fact, I love it so much I have multiples in my cabinet so I never run out!
2. Micellar Gel Makeup Remover by Milk Makeup- $24 at milkmakeup.com
This is a makeup remover that contains no alcohol... YAY! That means when you take off your makeup, you don't have to dry out your face in the process! I also love this product because of the packaging (it comes with a pump on the top so that it delivers the exact amount needed to cleanse the face). Other than those awesome features, it is also infused with quite a few things that make your skin feel good like chamomile, green tea, coconut, cucumber, papaya and aloe vera. Aloe vera is one of my favorite things to put on my face because it makes the redness and inflammation go away! Say goodbye to a puffy face when you use this stuff!
3. Seaweed Cleansing Soap by Mario Badescu- $14 at mariobadescu.com
Why am I so obsessed with this cleansing soap? Because it is super soft on my irritable skin.
With Spring comes pollen, allergies, stuffed up noses, clogged sinuses, and a whole lot of irritation in the facial region. This season I wanted to find a facial cleanser that was perfect for sensitive skin, and also did the job cleansing my face of any leftover
makeup from the day. Behold, I have found such a cleanser. This cleansing soap doesn't have too much perfume in it (the smell actually reminds me a lot of what I would imagine seaweed to smell like). Don't try to lather, it doesn't get very sudsy (so if you want a cleanser that doesn't multiply x1000 here you go).
4. Activated Charcoal Body Scrub by buddy scrub- $15.95 at buddyscrub.com.au
So have you ever tried activated charcoal? Yeah, me neither until I came across this amazing body scrub!
Like any good body scrub, you want to use it to buff out any rough spots on your body that may have dry/dead skin cells (your butt, mid-back, chest, scalp, and elbows), but this particular body scrub is just a little bit better because it's got activated charcoal. This ingredient has been used for years to bring toxins out of the body, and it just so happens, when put into a body scrub, it extracts dirt and oil too!
I tried this stuff on a whim because the packaging looked cool, and I have to say it is one of my favorite body scrubs. It smells like peppermint, and when I use it I can always tell a difference in places like my chest and mid-back because my acne definitely decreases significantly when I use it.
5. Couture La La by Juicy Couture- $17.49 at Target.com
So as we all know, Juicy Couture has made it's way back into the spotlight this Spring 2017 season.
I remember wearing Juicy perfume back when I was in middle school, so to see the brand make such an amazing comeback really put me in the mood to buy some of the same smells I remember from my past.
I went with this option because some Juicy perfumes can be a little too flowery or fruity, and that just isn't my style this Spring. Instead I opted for this little guy because it's a more masculine scent, but still sticks to a traditional Juicy smell.
So far I've been wearing it everyday! I would definitely recommend trying it this season if you're looking for an affordable perfume throwback!
