Hit the Lights: Skip School, Start Fights
Hit the Lights is a band that has been in my life for the better part of twelve years. Unbeknownst to them, they were with me from the beginning of my tenth grade year of high school, through fun times and bon fires, and all of the hard times life tends to throw at us. I can't believe it, but their album Skip School, Start Fights, just turned ten years old last year. I remember the summer the album was released. I was about to start my senior year of high school, and just had my first laparoscopy procedure after finding out I had Endometriosis. My whole life was changing, but so was there's.
See, this album was and still is super important. It was the first album since the departure of former lead vocalist Colin Ross. I'm pretty sure every Hit the Lights fan was waiting right there with me to hear the first album since the new band arrangement, as guitarist and backing vocalist Nick Thompson became the band's new front-man. Needless to say, it blew me away. It was very apparent that Nick was perfect for his newfound role, and the amazingness just kept rolling on for years to come. I hope for many more years with them.
