Cassettes: Wild Heart

Recently at Seamingly, we’ve been receiving submissions from bands who want us to listen to their music, and give some feedback. When I first read the submission from Cassettes, I could not wait to check out their music. From the way they described their style and also the people they worked with on their debut LP, I had an immense feeling that I would not be disappointed. So, let’s jump right in.

Cassettes comes to us all the way from Philadelphia. Their first full length album, ‘Wild Heart’ was recently released on January 25th, and is quite a fun piece of art. The album boasts retro vibes, while keeping it’s roots in the modern day. ‘Wild Heart’ also has some talented names attached to it as well, considering that the album was recorded with Ace Enders (The Early November) & Nik Bruzzese (Man Overboard) and mixed by Vince Ratti (Brand New, The Wonder Years, Say Anything).

I immediately loved the feel of the whole album from the first listen, and haven’t been able to stop listening since. Truth is, it’s hard to listen to this album without having a smile on your face. Maybe it’s the nostalgic hints of the 90’s music scene, or the many catchy melodies and guitar riffs, or even the fact that every song reminds me of summer. Whatever it is, I’m loving it. I predict even more greatness to come from Cassettes, and I simply can’t wait. Here are a few of my favorite songs from the album:
