Black Shorts. Warm Winter.

Black Shorts. Warm Winter.

By Elizabeth Kabakjian

So.. it's still winter time, and somehow I'm able to wear shorts. That is weird coming from me because, I'm even cold during the summer.
It was a warm winter's Wednesday. I wore black leggings, black shorts, a black t-shirt and a yellow pair of socks. Then of course my over-sized denim jacket with checkered plaid cotton lining.

Winter is on its way out and spring is making its way quite quickly, and this is one nice quality of South Carolina; it is warm more than it's cold.

As you can see, I was in the hair flipping mood on this day. Even though I didn't need to do much flipping; the wind was all over the place.
I was feeling fairly refreshed; waking up to the sun finally shining, with the air warm and crisp. I'm more than ready for spring.

This is the third blog appearance for this pair of loved black denim shorts. A pair of Levi's Shorty Shorts, paired with solid black leggings felt just right. But, I couldn't leave out any attention to my socks - and so I wore a yellow pair. This is the second blog appearance for this pair of yellow socks. American Apparel "Stripe Calf-High Sock" are a favorite of mine, my collection is building slower than I'd like but, it's surely building and that's all that matters.

Each article of clothing in this outfit are all items of my wardrobe that I value; with each piece being one that I wear repeatedly without ever getting tired of. Having basics and items in your wardrobe that are versatile, are important in my opinion. This denim jacket is actually a mens Levi's jacket. I instantly fell in love with it a year ago and its checkered cotton lining, it gives a "trucker" vibe, which was the selling factor for me because I've always wanted to be a trucker.

I'm just kidding, I've never even pictured myself as a trucker. Okay maybe I have wondered what it's like to be a trucker but I certainly have never wanted to be one. Alright, now that I got that out of the way let's get back to the blog!

A big reason why I am so ready for spring, other than the warmth and color of nature springing forth, is how the season affects my moods and emotions. January and February have always been my least liked months/time of the year. These are the times when winter seems to be lingering, skies are dreary and moods are melancholy, the sun doesn't show its face as much, and things just feel motionless.
Life is affected by so much, and I believe that times of the year have a major play in it. Moods follow months, and months follow time. As soon as spring starts to creep around the corner, as do new and fresh moods. At least, for me.
March is right around the corner and I couldn't be more pumped. Not to mention that I am a Pisces, but the month of March has always brought me joy simply because the sun is out, the air is crisp, plants and flowers are in bloom, and color is in the air.

And so, on this warm winter's Wednesday as I left the house in shorts and the sun was shining sweetly, I felt a joy.

P.S. I saved the best for last - my black t-shirt, "Imagine" John Lennon t-shirt. This is one of my most favorite t-shirts. I wear it a lot.

Until next time, farewell folks!
